Shopping in Greenwich: the market, Royal Hill and neighbourhood specialists

Explore market makers, independent shops and everyday services from Greenwich Church Street to Royal Hill and East Greenwich.

Begin with the market and surrounding streets

Greenwich Market brings together food, makers and shops within the historic town centre. Use the market's own information for current traders and visiting arrangements, particularly when you want to find a specific maker rather than simply browse.

Continue along Greenwich Church Street, College Approach and Nelson Road for nearby shops and services. A jeweller, bookshop or design business may have different visiting arrangements from a market stall. Check the individual business's website before travelling for a repair, commission or particular item.

Look beyond the busiest visitor streets

Royal Hill offers another useful shopping stop, including Made in Greenwich's current shop at 31 Royal Hill. Older references may still point to its former Creek Road address, so follow the business's own current details. Independent businesses also line Trafalgar Road through East Greenwich.

Blackheath Standard and nearby Blackheath have shops of their own, while Deptford offers a different local shopping area. Treat these as separate stops when planning the day. A useful specialist may be outside the historic centre without being a short walk from the market.

Plan for the purchase you need

For flowers, jewellery work or a bespoke order, ask about stock, lead times and collection before setting off. Some studios and service businesses work by appointment. A directory photograph helps you recognise a business, but it does not show live stock or guarantee walk-in access.

If you are combining shopping with a visit to the Peninsula, allow for the separate journey. Confirm the actual collection address for bulky items and use current transport information. Leave space for a café stop without assuming every destination is beside the same station.
